Addressable Systems

Modern technology has brought forward addressable fire detection systems. This is where each individual fire detector has a unique address and when a fire is detected, the zone of the fire can be indicated as well as the individual responding detector. Such technology can allow immediate remedial action to be carried out on, e.g., faulty individual detectors.

Addressable systems can also be used to avoid false alarms which could be a result of gas suppression, when installed in a coincidence connection configuration. This allows any two detectors to give the appropriate signal to the control and indicating equipment if they are connected to the same detection line.
