All fire protection systems must be designed in accordance with current standards, taking into account the use of the building, the design classification, and how the system will interact with other systems and equipment.

All interested parties should be included in the design process, including;

• Building owner / occupier
• Architect
• Insurer
• District surveyor
• Building control
• Fire officer
